KOCH E-Coat Systems
Koch is a world leader in the design and manufacture of e-coat systems, with 150+ systems installed throughout the U.S., engineered to meet customer needs for performance, flexibility and cost.
Koch has invested more than 40 years in the development of e-coat systems that combine the best science and engineering with hands-on field and technical support that is widely acknowledged as the finest in the industry. We are founding members of The Electrocoat Association and proud to have employed three recipients of the prestigious Brewer Award for excellence and innovation in electrocoating technology.
Koch manufactures three types of electrocoating equipment: 1) continuous motion, conveyorised tanks; 2) batch installations (where the work is indexed and lowered into the bath); and 3) bulk coating systems, where work is random-packed.
Cleaned, charged parts enter a temperature-controlled, grounded steel tank, which is lined with chemically-resistant, dielectric material. After a 90- to 120- second dwell, parts are conveyed through two or three counterflow rinses to remove un-deposited paint. Excess paint is rinsed away with a solution of permeate (ultrafiltrate). Prior to a full cure, a second coat (wet on wet) can be applied.
If building a new or updating an existing e-coat, e-coat/combination system - is in your plans, we invite you to visit our in-house lab. We also encourage you to talk with some of our 150+ current customers of Koch e-coat finishing systems located throughout the world.
